A deflection pulley is a component used in conveyor belt systems that is designed to change the direction of the belt or adjust the tension of the conveyor belt. The belt contacts the surface of the deflection drum, and the angle of this drum changes the direction of the belt. At the same time, the deflection drum ensures that the belt moves in a straight line and helps balance the tension in the conveyor system.

Direction Change: Used to change the direction of the conveyor belt. It usually determines the direction of the belt at angles of 90 degrees or less.

Tension Adjustment: It plays a critical role in adjusting the tension of the belt. In order for conveyor belt systems to work properly, the belt must have the correct tension.

Passive Part: Mostly a passive component, meaning it does not contain any motorized movement of its own; it simply directs the belt movement.
